@schroscat agreed, great story haha You’re a very engaging writer
I honestly don’t mind not being productive until after Thursday. I like this kind of constant waiting feeling, it definitely won’t happen again ever. Regular decision releases won’t have the same excitement, since I’ve already been through it. This is my official, first college response!!
@giraffeinatree Haha, thank you! I believe it’s one of my shining moments as a scholar. The second best is when I slipped and fell off of a cave in Cappadocia.
@snackpack02 “aye lmao” quote of the century
Are you guys on Twitter at all or just Facebook?
@snackpack02 Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr…
@schroscat Have you seen faded aliens (Twitter account)?? That’s where I first encountered aye lmao and my life has changed since.
@snackpack02 That account literally makes my life whole
Did any of you guys use the material uploader to upload any “misc” or “academic work?” If so, what did you guys upload?
@Kyuutoryuu I think the most stressful part of this is that this is my first college response, too. As of right now, I’m not for SURE going to college. Like, I’m certain I’ll end up somewhere, but just the vulnerability of not having been accepted makes this first decision 10x scarier. Let alone that it’s also harvard we’re talking about here. Everyone at my school applied to local unis with rolling admissions, and i didn’t and they always talk about the colleges to which they’ve been accepted. Then when they ask me where I’ve gotten in, im just like “uuhhhh. Nowhere. But harvard is gonna reject me on the 10th!!!”
Jokes aside, I’m so full of nerves and anxiety and I want to get in sooooo fricken bad (just like all of you haha). Good luck to everyone
Eating fried chicken helps calm the nerves.
@harvardisbae I didn’t; I had already sent in music supplements so I felt like adding in another supplement would be more than enough.
Ok so my family is also exclusively from another country, Ecuador, but that only serves as a setting for the story in this one.
So when I was 6 and my brother was 11, my family took us to visit our extended family in Ecuador. While we were there, my brother was climbing up a retaining wall because he was an 11 year old boy…who I guess had a primal urge for climbing or something. So this retaining wall was like 7 or 8 feet high and he’s just walking back and forth along its edge. Then my mom starts yelling at him to come down because supper is ready and he decides “well. quickest way down is too jump!”. All this time I’m standing at the bottom watching him be super cool because he’s my older brother. So he jumps. But his shoelace was caught between one of the bricks in the wall so instead of landing on his feet, he instead hopped out and then was ricochetted back to the wall face first, feet facing to the sky! Then after the aggressive impact his shoelace comes undone and he falls the remainder of the way head first, eventually landing on his back. So luckily he wasn’t paralyzed, but he broke his nose pretty badly.
So we tell our parents.
And they were worried, but calm. Until they start arguing on which hospital is best to go to.
Long story short they argued for almost 3 hours and then just forgot to take my brother to the hospital to have his nose set, so it never got fixed :)) Now his nose is crooked. The end.
@tuty143 BATTLE SCARS! Also, pretty hilarious. Sucks for your brother…but that’s hilarious.
@harvardisbae I cracked up when I read your username in my head, because I have uttered those words in real life…
Ok, someone mentioned the gap on the portal page when you log in…I see it! I am with you that the gap must have some meaning. WHAT DOES THE GAP MEAN??
@collapp77 I totally understand. My supplement essay was quite risky as well, and my common app essay was probably super boring (research project). No use stressing about it now, but it’s good to reflect in case you’re re-using the supp essay for another app. Who knows, though. In order to stand out in such a huge and competitive applicant pool, risk-taking is the way to go. Even if it doesn’t work out, well played.
Does it say anywhere on the portal to confirm a music supplement on slideroom?
@james1998iq Nope
@collapp77 IDK BUT IT’S FREAKING ME OUT. How large is your gap?
everyone watch friends before getting your admissions decision. It’s hella soothing
