I know you’re (I’m) stressed. You will be OKAY. No matter what, you need to be proud of yourself. You went through hell and back, and for you to apply to Harvard is enough to prove to yourself that you’ve succeeded despite everything. You’re going to be successful no matter what; you don’t need Harvard to save lives. Remember, your goal is to change the face of medicine, to make sure baba’s death (Allah rahmet eylesin) lives through your actions. This will not be the end of the world for you.
Oh dear arrogant youngling,
You were so upset that day you got deferred from Harvard. And then, you thought it’d all be okay. Welp. Here you are. Age 46 and living on the streets. All because you got deferred and then rejected from the #1 school in the world

Dear future self,
I don’t know what college you are attending, but I do know that it doesn’t make a difference. I want you to know that I am extremely proud of you! Didn’t get that A you wanted? Didn’t get accepted to your first choice med school? Doesn’t matter! Whatever happens, I hope that you remain humble and never stop believing. The fact that you applied to Harvard already shows that you want to reach to the stars and beyond. Continue carrying on with that thought in your head!
If you got into Harvard: Congrats! You have done well!
If you didn’t: You have done well, too! I know it, because in the end of the day the name if the college says little about the person you are and want to become!
Don’t forget your family and don’t become a pretentious jerk! If you’re reading this, say hi to your parents and brothers right now!
My mom: You know, I was thinking today. Harvard’s pretty damn terrible for making you wait this long. Like, that’s evil. Geesh.
