Harvard University Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

I do understand what you mean but since other ivy leagues announced the decision day which is the same day as redditers said, I believe this. Also it traditionally comes in the middle of December on a Thursday.

Yes, again, that’s all tea leaf reading. And I agree that tonight at 7pm is the likeliest timeframe based on what they’ve done the last few years. What I’d prefer is a formal, public statement from the school, as every other school has done. Harvard has not (yet) done that, and perhaps will not.

Thank you! I should have added that we are also very excited for him. We thought he was a strong candidate, but thought a deferral was the most likely outcome with no “hook.”

I would have thought so too. Happy for him, that solid top notch achievement across the board got him in.

Congratulations!!!
Would you like to share what are his solid academic ECs?

Mostly writing related. At his public high school, for outside publications and involvement in academic writing programs outside of his school.

Hey guys! I am a senior in high school from New York looking to apply to Harvard for musicology. I’ve already written my supplemental essay but would like for some students who attend or have been admitted to read over what I have. For the students that got in for the Class of '28, what do you think made you stand out in your essay. Any help would be great! Thanks

Hello, I am ranked 1 in my high school. I am a member of the Symphony Orchestra (SO). For the magazine drive organization, we focus on receiving any magazines from donors (as long as they are appropriate for a waiting room).

Still deferred, however.

Just curious did anyone get the Harvard interview?

I applied RD and got a request for one about a week after I applied.

How did it go?

I am so sorry, I completely forgot to respond! It went really well until my interviewer started talking about antisemitism on their campus and how I felt about it (I have a very jewish last name). So, I just thought that was a bit odd and made me a little uncomfortable, but other than that, it went well! How did yours go?

You should talk to admissions about that interviewer. It’s not appropriate for them to ask that, especially if it was trigerred by your last name.

My son loved his interviewer. They talked for 1 1/2 hours from everything related to the research my son did to old cars being restored. But my son has already told us that even if he gets in he’s not going because he’s already made his choice to stay local and attend a honors business program he got into.
