Our concertmaster in the ASYO last year is at Juiliard this year and my violin teacher went there. This random kid that everyone hates from my school went to Harvard on a Heisman scholarship. And two kids from my graduating class are going to West Point, including my ex. Fun stuff.
I don’t think anyone would apply to all three…it’s really a wide spectrum of schools…i mean, from Juiliard to WP? Kind of total opposites. Theoretically, it could be done though I suppose. You would really have to have absolutely no clue about what you wanted to do though.

Not so much why would someone like the Army and consider a music school, it’s that both applications are a long process and that would be one crazy year. I wanted to go the the Art Institute in Illinois ever since I was a kid but applied to the Naval Academy instead starting junior year and that alone was a pain in the butt.

“If the average person does recognize a muscial/artistic school (most won’t) they will likely think of Julliard.”

Most classical musicians could care less what the “average person” might recognize.
