This is exactly how I got a crack on a MacBook screen many years ago. I remember that when I got it fixed, the apple technician said that so many people experience that problem with cords that newer MacBook models had been designed with a different screen that was less prone to being damaged that way. I believe that was one or two laptops ago so I can’t remember what model it was, but I’ve never experienced that problem again (though I have occasionally closed the laptop on my cord by mistake). I’m surprised that it happened to you on a newer model. I thought that they had fixed the issue (made the screens less pressure sensitive).
