Has anyone gotten a 12 on their SAT II Writing essay?

Over30:
How’s it possible to get 8 subscore and 800? (i’m not sure about how SAT II Writing score works)…
If I get 8 on essay, how many can I get wrong on MC to get around 730?

I got a 9 (stopped in the middle of the 3rd paragraph…haha) and 0 mc wrong, –> 800.

I got 5 wrong, 9 on essay- 780.

I missed 7 on the multiple choice but I got a 12 on the essay, barely giving me an 800. I mainly BS’d the essay with a few flowery words and fairly standard construction, my supports clearly supported the promp however. I basically made up personal experiences in order to make the essay work (I don’t think being dishonest here matters at all–I would never lie on an actual admissions essay or anything).

Where do you see your essay score? Do you have to request it specially or something?

I got 9 on my essay, didn’t use all the space…i did well on improving paragraph, and fairly well on improving sentence…but i got HALF wrong on the Id sentence errors…as a result i got 680. And the worst thing is 5 months later, the stupid id sentence errors is still screwing me over in practices…GRRRRRRR

odysseus, when the Collegeboard mails you your score report (which they send everyone through snail mail), it breaks the test down - the essay score and your score per problem type (“ID Sentence Errors”, “Improving Paragraphs,” etc).

i’m takin the test tommorrow =…i think the lesson here is that u can write about anything you really want to, as long as it sticks to the prompt well and is good in terms of grammar and structure…lets hope i’m right.

I have a question though, would it be wise to link a book thats not really a popular novel or something in the essay (something recent maybe, or popular)?

I got a 10 and I don’t remember how many MC wrong but I got an 800.

might be a little inappropriate, but how many MC can u get wrong to get a 750+ with a 10 or 12 essay score?

Also, is the kaplan book as hard/harder/easier than the real thing?

I hope the Kaplan is harder, I wasn’t doing to well.

I got an 80 for the multiple choice and an 8 on the essay for a 780 in October…and I thought that I was a decent writer :frowning: Maybe my mistake was writing about the U.S. Constitution?
