I have a friend who did that with a house. It was a tear down purchase because they just wanted the land. Donated it to a local community college that had fire training/certificates. They burned it down as a training exercise.
Another person who donated a car to public radio. It was reasonably easy and got a nice donation on my taxes. Would do it again.
We donated one to the local ARC. They sent the flatbed truck, and a nice tax donation. People should be aware that Kars for Kids (the one with the horrible earworm jingle) is sort of a scam.
We also donated a car to a local public radio station. They came and picked it up and sent us all the necessary tax paperwork to claim a deduction, which was around $1700. This was more than we expected for a 16 year old Acura Integra that needed work. I’ll probably do the same thing with my now 13 year old Toyota Camry when I finally buy a new car.
Thanks again form th center who have contributed
