Have you ever forgotten Daylight savings time clock changes? What happened?

Isn’t it more complicated in that some counties in the northwest and southwest corners of the state did observe daylight time, as well as the central time zone, due to their economic association with major cities in other states?

In the US, Hawaii does not use daylight time, which does not make much sense at tropical latitudes where the time of day changes little.

Arizona mostly does not use daylight time, but the Navajo Nation territory in Arizona does. The Hopi Nation that is surrounded by the Navajo Nation does not use daylight time, like the rest of non-Navajo Arizona.

Ah- Indiana times. I won’t forget asking my B-in-law exactly what time our mutual F-in-law’s funeral doings were. It was summer and they lived near a state border and therefore changed clocks (all Eastern TZ) but the funeral was a bit north where they didn’t. We’re from the central time zone… I was happy when Indiana changed so it was consistent with the rest of the area and consistently one hour ahead. The B-in-law had to keep track of work and home times in the summer.

Course Indiana is still not consistent. the counties near Chicago are Central and the rest of teh state is Eastern-because we want to be at the beck and call of all the New York businesses just clamoring to work with us, as opposed to Chicago businesses that actually like use our raw materials, highways, etc.

Anyone remember the West Wing episode where Josh and Toby get stranded in Indiana and are caught up in the DST warp? I miss that show…

See, you all prove my point. No one knows what time it is in Indiana, and that includes people in Indiana. Several counties around Mizzbee and around Evansville are on Central, the other ~85/92 are on Eastern. My general consensus is those in the “region”, associate much more with Chicago than Indianapolis…MizzBee, correct me if I’m wrong! Prior to the switch, a few counties around Cincinnati were on Eastern, the rest of the state was not.

Regardless, no one needs it to be light at 10:30 p.m. in the summer. There will still be some daylight around at 8:30 at my house tonight, March 11!

Will never plan a party for the Sunday morning after springing ahead. Did that for son’s 3rd birthday party and had some latecomers.

Husband and I went to a wake this afternoon. Arrived and only one other car was in the parking lot. Did everyone forget to move advance the clocks but us?? Nope. Ended up that a new funeral home in the same area opened up recently and has the same name. (Did not come up when I googled the first time!)

last year, my cell didn’t update the time and i was late to work about an hour. this year, i got to work on time b/c my cell automatically updated in the middle of the night :-)

Oh boy, thats gonna cause problems.

We went to a funeral many many hours away a few years back and good ol’ GPS said we were there. We were in a corn field. No joke. Fortunately we were early enough to ride around and fidn someone who could give us directions. Thre were 2 churches with very similar names in this small town, which probably caused the confusion. That said, neither was in a corn field!!
