<p>thank you all for your kind thoughts and words…i have been in shock all day and finally found release and comfort through tears, just now.</p>
<p>my boy will have surgery Monday am to reconstruct his face…the biggest risk is possible blindness/brain infection as the procedure dictates the complete removal and reattachment of his face after the plates/screws etc are attached.</p>
<p>i caanot believe i am writing this about my son…but there it is.</p>
<p>and for the poster who wondered if i had a son at dartmouth…i have one accepted who will matriculate in the fall…this situation is his brother…a brother to whom he has looked up to his entire life.</p>

<p>I can only echo Marite’s words. I am terribly sorry that your boy is going through this ordeal. I know that if the presence of a devoted parent can help, he has that.</p>
<p>I can’t imagine anything more horrible than seeing the child you spent your life loving and protecting deliberately hurt by someone. I am so sorry. I hope your son heals quickly and that the criminals who did this are caught and punished.</p>
