My EFC is insane for Haverford ($67,000). oh the joy of having all working parents and stepparents considered.
To attend, I would need it at more like $35,000.
Is it worth emailing/calling their financial aid department or is the gap just too wide to make happen and I shouldnāt bother?
What did the NPC say before you applied? If thereās a gap between the NPC and what they offered you then you should definitely take that up with them! At the very least they can explain why and best case scenario they can review your situation. Good luck!
Well the npc for my dads finances came out to $25-30k, but I only ran it for that one household. They probably doubled it because my stepdad and dad make comparable amounts. Issue is, my dad has 6 kids with 2 in private school, and my stepdad is busy saving for his own daughterās college and canāt pay for hardly any of mine
Oh well. I can talk to them but u doubt itāll do much
Is there any downside to asking for a reconsideration? If not, Iād say give it a try. Best of luck to you.
Did you have any luck with your financial aid appeal?
Before I did it, I saw on the website that they will not negotiate financial aid. So I didnāt bother
anyone heard from waitlist?
Likely May 1st or later.
Typically they will start evaluating whether they will go to the waitlist at all after May 1. For context, last year (for class of '27) Haverford offered WL to 1342 students, 740 chose to remain on the WL and they offered admission to 27 of those who remained. The previous year they offered only 7 spots from their WL. All predictions are this year may be even more wonky due to delays with the FAFSA. My hunch is that waitlists will move later than normal due to this. Fingers crossed for the best!
