From what I have seen AOs say about demonstrated interest, they definitely recognize in-person visits are not always financially possible or otherwise practical. So there tend to be alternatives–live info sessions, going to a college fair and filling out an interest card, optional non-evaluative interviews, and so on. And they tend to say you don’t have to do everything, just enough to make it clear you are seriously considering the college and wanted to make an effort to get to know more about it.

Demonstrated interest does not have to be feet on campus. Not all kids are able to travel, and even if they did, that’s often just a one-time visit. Schools track whether you did the online tour, whether you open and scroll down all the way in their emails, whether you click links, whether you interview, etc.
Per their CDS, Carleton does not track demonstrated interest. Haverford “considers”, but it is not “important” or “very important”.

Also a good point!
Now, as to whether they track if you play Ultimate . . . .
