Haverford vs. Wesleyan (international, humanities, lgbtq+)

Perhaps younger alum know better, but Haverford Honors Code, and the model of “confrontation”, was not about censoring speech, it was things like, you can ask someone to turn down the music in the dorm, because you have a big test or even, because there is a strong sense of community, the other student wouldn’t even play loud music in the first place because they knew that it could disrupt other people. Haverford’s culture is less about being “confrontational” in the sense of looking for things to challenge and attack but rather about respecting each other. It is a community where students are not competitive with each other academically, it is a collaborative, but still rigorous community.
