Sounds great!
My memory is not what it used to be but I think I remember the dog!
Welcome back busy Mom!
Welcome back, @teriwtt! Stick around awhile - we missed you!
omg… I’d forgotten about that. Did you ever get a TJs near you?
I love living here!! We’ve only made it out to western MA once (other than when we drove through it on our move here) when D1 got married in Lenox five years ago! Definitely want to go back. Haven’t experienced Tanglewood yet!
H and I visited Estes Park back in 2017 and did some amazing hiking (and some gasping for air!!). And since moving here, we started a tradition of doing a week on the Cape every summer with our family. First year was Harwich Port, then Chatham, then this last year we did Mashpee and it was our favorite house, so we’ve booked it again for next year! D2 from CA comes out to join us!
So sorry to hear about your husband. Glad to see you’re still here, connecting with people you’ve known for a long time, though!
I think you talked me off of a ledge when D2 was driving up to Big Bear Lake one New Year’s Eve to be with her H who had a gig up there. Alas, she made it up there and back and wouldn’t you know, lived to tell the story!
After our first acorn incident while we were in IL (swallowed one whole which caused an intestinal blockage resulting in major surgery), we bought pet insurance, which was a smart move. He has since had one more complete swallowing of something, and another where he inhaled something off of the ground that lodged partially in his trachea and required a middle of the night emergency procedure to remove it. And now he’s on a couple of cardiac meds, so we’ve gotten our money’s worth. We’re also going to do a trial of cold laser therapy starting this coming week to see if it helps with his osteoarthritis. So yea, it adds up!!
Ha! Moderating required a much thicker skin than I had! Nice to see you are still here!
Oh my! That’s a lot for one sweet pup. One of our cats is on very expensive meds that can only be administered at the vet’s office - Solensia for osteoarthritis. That thing works! I wonder if there’s something similar for dogs. It is a monoclonal antibody initially developed for humans but the trial has been discontinued. Then Zoetis apparently “felinized” it and got approved for cats.
I wonder if it’s in the same category as Librela? And yes, we’ve had conversation about that. But we suspect he’s had some sort of aging neurological issues going on and Librela can be contra-indicated in those situations. If we decide to go that route, we’d probably have to get an MRI done or take him to a canine neurologist (why not? he already sees a cardiologist and ophthalmologist!!)
Glad to see you back! I also love your avatar. My avatar passed away a number of years ago, at 14 1/2. Enjoy every single minute you have with that sweetie, because very quickly, they can be gone.

We are getting one in 2027! Years and years after you helped me out - isn’t that crazy! I’ve told the story of you helping me out more than once. ![]()
Hi from another old-timer! I also moderated for a while but found it just too much. Hats off to those who stick it out!
Ditto!
Welcome back.
