Having Problems Filling Out FAFSA

Well you gotta say how much you made in 2009 regardless. Should say on your last paycheck in 2009 bud.

No, I don’t. When they re-evaluated it, they made it 0, so I could get the $2675.

snooks, what do you mean by project income? and also are theyre some tips in getting the 0? i got the 0 last time i did it

Here is the link for the financial aid calculator for UCLA. You can use it for different money scenarios. Doesn’t really matter which school’s calculator you use. All of them end up telling you the same amount in grants it believes you are eligible for.

[UCLA Aid Estimator](http://www.fao.ucla.edu/estimator/)

I was originally award a Pell grant for $1200 ($600 for fall and $600 for Spring), but when I told them I wasn’t working anymore, the financial aid counselor said I could do a re-evaluation to be awarded more money. Even though, I worked for 2008, they don’t base it off that when you’re unemployed. Since I don’t know when I’m going to get a job, they base it off your projected income until June 2010, which at the moment is $0.

i should prolly start mine.

so the deadline is march 2nd to file the fafsa and do the cal grant gpa verification.

If you file now, when do you update it with the adjusted gross income

“If you submit your FAFSA online and provide an e-mail address, you may receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) within 72 hours.”

What exactly is the SAR, is it what you will be rewarded or more like a review of the information you included to make sure it is correct?

^ where do you go to fill out the cal grant stuff?

you’re school is supposed to send them GPA verification automatically, but check with your school just in case.

that was quick. my SAR is already available for the schools I selected.

does ur SAR give you your EFC??

all u need is to fill out fafsa and do the cal grant gpa verification form ( link above) to be considered for the cal grant

Yes, your SAR does give you your EFC. Just got mine today. And called my Community College and they said they automatically send in my GPA Verification form.

yay i finally started haha, i didnt do much tho

so how does the EFC work if you hit “will file”…do you have to update it when you have filed

yes, but you should be able to find out how much you or your parents made last year.
