Head hurts. Help please.

does SAT matter that much though? I really find studying for the SAT to be fatuous. I would rather develop a recursive agent(with someone’s help) or something… I am an immigrant so shouldn’t I have some leeway in english? in math, well… i don’t know… I was ranked second in UIL so maybe they will overlook it? yeah… I am just being optimistic…
ok… thanks still.

Yes, it matters a fair amount. Highly-selective schools will typically look at your transcripts as most important, and the SAT or ACT next. You say you find it “fatuous,” but you clearly haven’t mastered it.

Your score is below the 25th percentile overall, and more problematically, your math score is below the 25th percentile for MIT. Since you’re foreigh-borne, it’s possible that they might give you some leeway on your CR score, but math? My sense is that because of your grades and extracurriculars, they’ll take a second look at your application, but you’re low. Because of your grades and extracurriclars, a more modest boost in your score could make you much more competitive. But remember, these folks get lots of outstanding applicants each year, and by definition, nearly all of them who are admitted have better scores than you right now.

The University of Texas is a world class university. If I were in your position with guaranteed admission to UT Austin, the only alternatives I would consider are the handful of top private universities of similar stature that would cost less to attend after scholarships.
