Healthcare?/Direct Deposit Question

5 depends on your insurance plan. If you're from the area (Indiana and probably surrounding states) your insurance plan may cover you - CALL AND CHECK :) If you're from New Jersey... a lot bigger leap of faith. Also check http://healthcenter.indiana.edu/about/fees-payments.shtml for official details.

In general, it depends on how good an insurance plan you have. Back in the dark ages insurance companies would either cover you outright or you had to have setup like a ‘guest’ so you could see doctors in your college town (any doctors, not just the IU health center). But these days are gone, and things aren’t quite as straightforward. If you have POS (point of service) or HMO type plan, you’ll need to check to see who is in-network in Bloomington, or if they’ll cover visits to the health center.

1-2 you need to have some bank account. It can be yours or your parents. The IU Credit Union is a good choice if you want to have a 'local' bank and can give you the details. For #3 it depends on the bank. My kids have their own accounts attached to our credit union and it works well and no fees. Plus allows me to monitor what they spend (coffee :( )

4 yes, if your parents are paying IU has a nifty 3rd party access where you create an account for them and they can log in and pay your bursar bill. Google 'IU third party access' and set them up.
