Heat Wave - How Hot?

It’s supposed to be 102 on Friday when we move S out of his dorm in VA. Wow, I can hardly wait… :(

Seventy three (73) today…where is my personal summer? I’m cold.

99 so far today in Toronto, with the humidity it feels 118. It’s the hottest I can remember ever feeling here in all the years I’ve lived here. The Blue Jays have closed the dome on their stadium for today’s game (first time ever that it’s happened due to heat) and free water will be given to all the fans who are brave enough to come to the game. Sure hope that we get some rain, and soon!

Our local weather column in the Minneapolis-St. Paul newspaper reported this morning that for a few hours Tuesday afternoon, Moorhead, MN was the hottest place on the planet. Moorhead is several hours north of the Twin Cities, just across from Fargo, ND and a few hours south of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Even people in the Twin Cities think of Moorhead as a cold place.

Heat wave broke today, though; highs in the 80s. Delightful.

I want 73. I miss 73. I was swimming at 6am, it felt like swimming in a hot tub. Yuk!! It was 102 yesterday, I will never move to the south, no Florida for me. Poor old people!!

Was in Philadelphia today- too hot for me - heat index 106,
Electric company nearing all time high usage-

I was outside around 4:00 PM. High-90s but low humidity.

I’ve played a few hours of tennis in this kind of weather several times this summer - no big deal. If it were more humid, it would be a bigger pain. It’s nice living in New England; I wouldn’t like dealing with triple-digit temperatures.

Heat index of 111 in Detroit right now. I had a really big job interview today and my grandma had to drive me because the AC in my car isn’t working. Wearing a suit in the summer is dreadful.

heat index easily in triple digits this entire week–had to play in the local city golf tournament–two day event–glad it is over and glad i survived!

Orange County, California. Oh, how I miss living on the Pacific coast.

Now I live in south Texas on the gulf coast. I’d put up our temps but suffice to say that in the mid-high 90s is average with heat indexes of 105-110. Only have to wait until October for the heat to break! Oy!

93 in metropolitan New York City. My office building shut down a number of elevators to save power. Some buses this morning had no AC and consequently quite a few very grumpy passengers.

101 here in our suburb that is near Lake Ontario north of Rochester. It’s been very dry for several weeks. We’re thankful we upgraded the heating/cooling system last year. Our new AC unit is getting quite a workout. There is a nice breeze, but it’s still unpleasant to go outside for more than a few minutes. The doggie got a very short walk today.

Temps at or near 100 here today with a relative humidity of 98%…yuck. It’s supposed to be like this through Saturday. I think I need to go to the mall (no AC except in the bedrooms).

Definitely parts of California - that’s one of the big reasons I live here. Hawaii’s pretty decent as well but not as cool in the summers as right on the coast of California.

HOT!

97°F

Feels Like: 105°

San Diego…I’d love to live here just for the climate.

It was so hot today that the AccuWeather team [baked cookies on the dashboard of a car](http://www.accuweather.com/blogs/news/story/52744/its-so-dang-hot.asp) at their headquarters in State College, PA.

It was 102 on my way home from work today, after 5. I usually walk at lunch, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it today. It was like a blast furnace!

It was 82 degrees today. I love LA.

Was in Memphis Saturday throught Tuesday. I thought I would melt. What amazed me is it seemed to be hotter at night. That humidity was brutal.

It wasn’t too bad: got to ~92F this afternoon and a comfortable 80F now.

Why does our indoor/outdoor cat insist on going outside when it’s so hot? And if she’s not outside, she’s on my lap (which must be a good 102F degrees.)
