Heat Wave - How Hot?

So sorry for all of you suffering thru the heat. I guess So. Calif. along the coast is the place to be right now! Ventura County-1/2 way between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara is in the high 60’s/low 70’s right now with very little humidity… We had one week of 80’s/90’s but otherwise perfect. I do have to say I don’t think you could get much better weather than along our stretch of the coast, but then we don’t really get seasonal changes either. I don’t like heat so I’ll take the cool weather anytime!

My car thermometer said 106 at 6pm. Who knows what it said earlier! I haven’t been this hot outside since an August drive through the Mojave desert.

102 with a dew point in the low seventies. Just plain NASTY. Lost power twice this afternoon. Stayed cool with a Serendipity3 Frrrozen Hot Chocolate. Brain freeze! :D

I am lucky that I have covered parking at work, so my car is fine when I get to it at the end of the day. It cools down fast.

Here in NJ it was 103 the last time I checked…so hot that when I decided to take a dip in the pool, which wasn’t as refreshing as it normally would be. My dogs who are clearly upset to not be outside hanging out in the evening , as we normally do have finally realized it it way too hot out there
I work outside and although it was brutally hot , I feel more sorry for the firemen who kept having to respond to calls in their full gear
And the truth is, I have nothing to complain about because I have options to stay cool while others do not…feeling a little guilty about that :(

^^^ just 30 minutes north of lje62- south jersey, heat index hit 123. Ouch, and three power outages effecting 2500 Atlantic County customers.

Heartbreaking conditions for people in cities, without relief!
