hell with the prom?

it is overrated. Damn…why the heck would you need a date if you go to an all girl school? what…did they decide to finally let you little girls loose? eh? hehe. no offense, please. seriously, I think it is a stupid rule, really stupid!!!

scoff Prom is soooo suburban.

Well, really, I’m looking forward to it. I like getting dressed up.

people get pretty competitive at my school to snatch up guys in time for prom… so they end up going w/ people they just met just for the sake of attending the prom. With 2 months to go, all many girls talk about is finding a date in time… it’s soooo ridiculous!

Jeez. Girls are stupid. :stuck_out_tongue: :D

Hey, what’s that supposed to mean??? I know what you’re talking about, but why the need for the generalization?

hahaha, yeah everyone is secretly planning who theyre going to prom with (and we’re juniors… our school only has senior prom). prom at my school is awesome though, and the after party is a weekend long at the hamptons.

and yes, prom is so suburban, but we’ve been chic and city all our lives, its time to revel in our suburban side.

i heard our prom had a bad dj…and it was a bad weather…doesn’t matter, i really don’t have the money to go and time to make the money. so …not goin’

Burn prom, burn!

yeah…do that. oh, btw…how do you make all the smilies in the text?

See the FAQ, friend.

re: smilies

when you post, click “go advanced” and way down at the bottom there should be a link for smilies;),stylized text, etc.

I don’t understand why prom is so much. Some of the high schools here charge up to $75 per couple, and those are public, I dunno what the private schools are like. My school, we’ve only had one prom so far, small school, and it was $10 or 15 for a couple! This year it’ll be about $25 per couple because we’ve gotten a nicer hotel, but still it’s affordable.

Ours is going to be like 180 per couple…which is actually pretty cheap, all things considered…I go to a public school too!

prom prices are too crazy. it’s like a whole lot for the simple things…food, floor, music…and what? balloons? thanx for the similie info!

our school is like $325 per couple, you guys should feel lucky!
It is in the Waldorf-Astoria though.

I’m kind of excited for prom. Even though I’m going to my boyfriend’s senior one and I will know pretty much NO one there. haha, and everyone can dance because, sorry if this offends, but giving into the typical stereotype, majority are black. I dunno, I think it’ll be fun though, and I love my dress. Then next year I’m dragging him to mine since my school atually pulls off an amazing prom/after prom (amazing for my school, haha). I’m not a fan of dances (the only dances I’ve ever gone to was one for 6th grade graduation that was mandatory and my homecoming this year). But my homecoming I had a bunch of fun - simply because my friends, boyfriend and I made it fun. Music was SO bad, but we had a ton of fun at dinner (we went to Bravo’s, a restaurant where you can draw on the table cloth) and made up dances and then chilled at a friends house afterwards eating cookies. haha. We’re a wild bunch, lemme tell you that.

Well now I understand why some people don’t go, if prom was more than $50 a couple I probably wouldn’t go.

wow, like you haven’t spent more than $50 at school…

i don’t think people understand the significance of senior prom. sigh that’s just too bad… :(

why would i spend $50 at school…what is there to waste that kind of money on?

I’ve been on the fence about prom for a while now. But now I’ve decided that I’ll go with a small group of friends who don’t drink…or dance, really. lol It might end up pretty fun. The only thing bugging me is finding a date now. My sister’s trying to set me up, but at the same time, I have my eyes set on this girl who moved to So. Cal last year. :frowning: I don’t have her number and it sucks.
