<p>The only way you end up with all American friends in another country is if you act like a pompous American. </p>
<p>As for caring whether a university has international appeal, I would advise in an increasingly global world (and economy) this would be a factor to at least consider especially for someone who is going into A FIELD THAT IS INTERNATIONAL IN SCOPE.</p>
<p>The ignorance on some of these threads is amazing.</p>
<p>Anyhow, if BC does not have your major or a strong field in your area you should consider McGill. Also, the US Dollar is a bit stronger so you might consider cost and cost of living as well.</p>
