Are you looking at the the Undergrad BSchool Rankings?
The MBA rankings are different (Stern is #20 in the MBA rankings because they got their data to US News late. Usually they are #9 or #10 in MBA rankings and that will most likely be corrected next year)
For UG finance Stern is #2 in the country and the location is added benefit for whatever field you are interested. The ability to do relevant internships in your field plays a big role when you are pitching yourself in interviews come when you need to look for a full time job.
Ross is generally very good at management / strategy so if you were really into consulting Ross could be slightly more attractive. Ross could be more attractive if you wanted to find a job in the Midwest. Stern places well into NYC, San Francisco, and Europe / Asia but not many people end up in the Midwest from Stern (i’m sure it’s due to interest rather than opportunity).
