Help help help please.. dilemma

I’ll try to keep it short. I’m a student at a California CC (I’m a sophomore).

This is completely my mistake, but I had no idea MATH 118 (or it says you can take a class that is equivalent to MATH 125 as well) was a requirement to get into Marshall.

The only other requirement it seems is the WRIT (English) class, which I’ve completed.

Now, my community college is a quarter system and started 3 weeks ago, so it is to late to add the math class here. But another community college near me offers it, and they start next week. I’m trying my hardest to get into the class, but am currently on the waitlist.

Worst case scenario, I don’t get into the math class. Could USC still accept me as an undeclared? And if so, given my ultimate plan is to get to Marshall, how far behind would this put me? Could I take the calc class at USC 1st semester then transfer to Marshall internally by 2nd semester?

If you can’t get the class that starts next week, find an online class (it does not have to be a community college - it can be a university, and it does not have to be nearby) or a summer course and inform USC that you are taking it.

Thank you, I will look into that ASAP. I’m just not sure that a course like calculus is offered online…but I’ll find out ASAP! I believe it says on the transfer brochure that the course has to be completed by end of Spring 2012…summer won’t count. So if I did take it in the summer (which I definitely could), is there any chance they would accept it?

Worst comes to worst though, if I don’t end up being able to take the class in time, could they still accept me as undeclared, and then I could transfer to Marshall?

Thanks :)

I suggest you check with MitchAPalooza over on the Transfer Thread - he is VERY well-informed about transfer requirements http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1200985-usc-2012-transfer-thread-54.html

Thank you, great idea  I went ahead and messaged him.

Just wanted to let you know that Mitch messaged me back with a very helpful response. And I also got into the calc class. :)

Thanks for your help!

Great news!!!
