Help me buy a toaster!

My husband jokes that the worst product reviews are for toasters - nobody likes the one they get.
We have this inexpensive one for 2 1/2 years now. My husband uses it almost every morning - including toasting bagels. I have the red which looks nice.

I have an older version of this toaster, that I love. Bagels fit; long baguettes fit; 4 slices of regular bread fit. Mine doesn’t have all the buttons (options) on the right.

I have that same one that @thumper1 linked. I think it came out on top in NYT “Wirecutter” tests or some other product-rating site. It was cheap but it gets 'er done.

I bought a Zwilling Toaster at a Williams Sonoma outlet. It works great.

I bought an IKICH two slot toaster on Amazon several years ago. It works great, but unfortunately they don’t seem to make them anymore. I mention it anyway because it has a timer. I see other brands also have timers, and I find this feature very helpful. My husband is gluten free and extremely picky about toast. If it’s even slightly brown, it’s “burnt.” I can now end the toasting cycle when there are 38 seconds left and it’s perfect!

If I can’t find a toaster with a timer after this one dies, I’ll just have to find a new husband, instead.

Here’s the toaster I’m giving a shot. Pretty good reviews in multiple places. Doesn’t cost an arm and leg. Looks decent. I know I said “no black” …it’s more grey… And $10 less at Target than Amazon.

I didn’t know there were toasters with long thick slot(s)!!! That became the game changer for me as we often are toasting homemade bread or bagels. And I like that this was just one slot, not two (but you can toast two slices of regular bread side by side)

I’ll report back! People seem to love the viewing window.

The little egg cooker is all grown up and trying to take over the kitchen!

We bought a Haden toaster last year and love it. I’ve looked at Haden’s before - they look really nice!

D’s house just got a Cuisinart toaster at Costco $39. Looks nice and they like it.

I have that same Dash toaster, also in gray. I resisted buying one for many years because we rarely eat bread. Finally my visiting family complained enough that I bought one on an Amazon prime day. The gray was the least expensive color so that’s what I bought. It’s not bad looking at all and I do like the wide single slot. The front glass panel pulls down so is really easy to clean. We haven’t used it a whole lot, but have absolutely no complaints about how it toasts.

Good to know! The white was cheaper but I decided a toaster is something that best blends in a bit - unless it’s a SMEG.
