Help me choose please

You cannot deposit at two schools. That should not be a consideration.

Plus if UIUC is free, there wouldn’t be a deposit. And you are low income.

You have three days. Make a choice - you could have done so prior. So get it done now !!

Ps you might ask each jazz program for a student you can aural with -to learn more about how they feel about each program.

But you need to act quickly.

Good luck

But it is very reasonable approach when there are medical issues to address…

I find this odd, as they responded to my student within about a day. Did you call during office hours or did you leave a message? I’d suggest calling during office hours if you didn’t before to try get someone to talk to immediately, but otherwise wondering if contacting your AO might be a way to push them to respond.

The better approach would be to ask a college for an extension as final medical issues are sorted out. Double depositing is just not permissible.

This isn’t sound advice. Double depositing is unethical and can lead to admissions being rescinded if the schools find out.

Do not deposit at both schools. Doing so might result in your admissions to both schools being revoked.

I think music majors have a built in group of friends, so even if living at home I don’t think the OP will have trouble finding a group at Loyola.

thank you! i’ll keep this in mind

would either uiuc or loyola give me an extension? i have scholarship and grants to reconsider too, especially for u of i

You need to ask the college. They may – but the schools would also be well within their rights to say no. You seem to have left things to the last minute.

it is essentially? in another case I’m offered work-study for loyola so i can cover the costs up to $2000 which can cover a lot of the remaining estimated costs…. i’m not entirely sure which route to go here. i don’t want to count myself for services in urbana, and i do believe there’s an amtrak i can take to chicago + virtual medical visits, but i’m pretty scared of making a decision to leave and i’m not sure how good these services hold itself together (heard DRES was pretty good, carle is mixed)

smack me with a wet noodle for offering up the two deposits. Fwiw, it’s not something my family would be comfortable doing, but I know families who have made that choice. So, very much less than ideal but I probably shouldn’t have even opened the door to something quite morally gray

How are you doing? Get a chance to talk to either school?
