As Jon Kabat-Zinn famously said “wherever you go, there you are.” What if you don’t “connect” with students at the new school, and what if you like the school LESS?!? 
I’d be inclined to stay planted. You’re in a good program with good aid. You’d be trading the devil you know for the devil you don’t. No school is perfect.
