UC’s and CSU’s are test blind for 2022 admissions and I agree that Biology is not a great major for future jobs. USF and SCU are test optional and I would try to get into the 1400 SAT range if possible to be more competitive.
A UC/CSU GPA capped weighted of 4.05 makes you competitive at the Cal States and several of the UC’s. What is your local CSU which should be a Safety as long as your intended major is not impacted?
All 3 UC GPA’s? Also cumulative UW GPA for USF and SCU?
Cal Poly SLO and SDSU are probably a slight Reach but you look solid for the rest of the CSU’s on your list.
Biology is highly competitive and impacted at the majority of the UC campuses. Only 3 UC’s have a Business school (UCR/UCI/UCB) so what Business related major would you apply to at the other UC’s?
HS course rigor?
Since the UC’s and CSU’s have gone test blind, your academic record will be weighted very heavily. No admit data as of yet for the 2021 Freshman class to see how test blind impacted admissions at these schools.
For the UC’s, I would say UCR and UCM are very likely while UCSC is a good target. UCD/UCI/UCSD and UCSB are possible but more of a High Match/Low Reach. UCB/UCLA should always be considered Reach schools.
2020 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:
UCB: 14%
UCLA: 8%
UCSD: 39%
UCSB: 40%
UCD: 55%
UCI: 38%
UCSC: 82%
UCR: 90%
UCM: 97%
Make sure you would be happy to attend any of the schools on your list and best of luck.
