Help needed for move to Madison Wisconsin

As a footnote to nothing, a few years ago we tried to start a University of North Carolina alumni group in Madison. According to UNC there were a number of alum working for Epic. We never could get them to any of the organizing meetings since they were always traveling. We were unable to start the group. There are lots of new apartment buildings going up in the downtown area, however, I think that they will be filled with undergrads and probably should be avoided. The further you get away from the State, University/Johnson street core the more likely you will find apartments with graduate students and regular workers. Do not rent in one of the many older houses in the Bassett/Broom/Doty areas with multiple tenants. These houses tend to be filled with undergrads and the houses are very beat up.

Look at the grad student housing info boards rather than general or the undergrad ones. There is a lot there. Good pickings, IMO for good prices.

@deb922, just wanted to mention in case they don’t know that those relocating from more than 50 miles away get a $10k startup/relocation fund from Epic to keep. It is taxable except for the moving expenses that the IRS allows.
