Help! Osteochondritis dissecans diagnosis

S had surgery this morning (at our local hospital) with a very good prognosis for eventual healing and use. Dr had presented the range of possible problems and surgical solutions, and once the scopes were in, it became clear that the cartilage is fully intact, so no bone graft needed, and no open incisions. YAY! I won’t post further here, unless someone has specific questions- I know a heck of a lot more about this condition than I did two weeks ago :)

Thanks to each of you for your suggestions and concern when I needed it.

So glad that it went as well as it did! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Speedy recovery to your son! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he will have no complications.

So glad to hear such positive feedback from the surgery. How nice you went local… makes every aspect of this easier, going forward. Hope he gets to enjoy the last of the Olympics before the flame is extinguished… the hockey game on Sunday should be epic!!

I’m so glad that you’ve had such a positive outcome!

That’s very good news.

riverrunner, delighted to hear the procedure went well! Please keep us posted.

RR, best wishes for your son. And you, as well.
