Survey says…Texas A & M.
(See my lengthier reply though.)
We had to decide by last night. It’s been an excruciatingly stressful month.

Thanks very much!
(Also to clarify, this kid was looking at Texas A & M, not Alabama A & M, although we did entertain a very appealing offer from U of Alabama.)
Both schools are southern but felt very different when we visited, days apart.
Yes A&M vs Bama. SEC vs SEC.
Congrats on the decision.
A&M alums are like no other - so your student will become a part of a new and decent community.
Best of luck on this new adventure.
Great school and I’m sure it’ll be great for him !!
Thank you very much!
We’re all hoping this becomes a great new chapter for our first college kid.
Now we work out housing – this appears to be the next big challenge. Only two schools did NOT guarantee housing; how crazy that they’re committed to one that doesn’t offer a guaranteed dorm room!
Call housing - it’ll work out. Or some kid will have decided not to return and will need a sublet.
I bet they get campus housing but call first thing.
If it was easy it wouldn’t be an adventure !!
It’s a nice area. And fine school.
Take one of the free rides…
Okay - updating to say congratulations!
Sounds like your kid has a great plan.
I was worried about the 3.5 but it seems like that is across the board -and your kid is strong academically.
I wouldn’t worry about him not knowing anyone. It’s rare to keep high school friends anyway at college because people change so much!
We live in the northeast and one kid goes to Clemson. Not only is she the only person from our HS there, she is the only person from our HS, according to naviance, who ever attended. She loves it.
Engineering is a discipline that typically inspires students to form study groups, which will help your S get to know his classmates.
That might be the same, lol! One kid told mine he applied but didn’t get in. Otherwise people all said, “Texas?!?” But we’re feeling good about the opportunity AND the scholarship. We’re excited about all the school spirit and people were so friendly when we toured! I think it’s going to be good.
Housing secured!!
