I looked at previous exams of MATH 119 and 211. My cat could probably test out of 119 (he’s very smart). 211 doesn’t look all that difficult except for the likely 30% final, in which case it’s a free for all. Taking 211 at Ivy Tech is a noble idea (my older daughter did it) and I guess it (a) does not kill your IU GPA if you get a B and (b) you have time for other courses in the fall and © depending on how you take 211 (online for example) your homework could be a significant part of the grade (and the work), not a winner-take-all final.
The downside to that is that you have to send Ivy Tech transcripts when you apply to grad/med schools. So Med schools will know that you got a B but the B won’t be in your IU transcript.
Interestingly enough MATH 119 grade distribution is worse than 211…
