Sorry, but I do think snob could describe the attitude that LAC educated students couldn’t possibly find career success in Europe. Nor are the top LACs any more overpriced than Ivies or top research universities. Sounds like she thinks they are lesser schools and beneath her. I agree that there are aspects that don’t appeal to every student, but at a minimum she doesn’t seem very well informed on her full range of choices.

Actually, I thing talk of the “top” LAC’s is rather snobbish, considering the family’s financial circumstances.
The whole point of this thread was the father’s effort to find safeties.
There are a number of German universities with English as the language of instruction that are tuition free. May be worth looking into.

Hmm… should check those. Have always been a fan of the German ed system. And I will not hide it - quality education and free beats about anything… taught in English - it makes it too hard to resist …
