HERlead 2019

@RedVanessa Good Luck!

@taurusjess Yeah I saw that too, hopefully it’s earlier though because I’m anxious to know!

What type of projects did you all apply with?

hey guys! i applied for herlead this year. good luck everyone!!

Mine was more like a political/activist organization

Anyone know how many girls applied this year? And if they’re having more than 30 spots?

In past years, it’s been thousands @Jdeng28 . I doubt they’re having more than 30 spots, unless there were a few standout applicants who truly deserve a spot.

Also, @curlyqriley my passion project was to teach children social skills and self confidence though music education.

@kkhilyer Thanks for your input!

@curlyqriley I did dance programs for kids to improve self esteem both physically and mentally (since you learn how to pick up and memorize dances quickly)

Has anyone heard back from Herlead yet?

@smagmit I haven’t, I believe we should hear something from them in May.

Hey everyone! I also applied this year and I can’t wait for the acceptance letters to come out. Does anyone know what the actual experience is like? The website didn’t go into much detail.

anyone get a response yet?

@Ivyenvy12 ! No. not yet! waiting !

just out of curiosity, what were everyone’s projects?

Hey! My project was decreasing bullying rates by teaching young children in the classroom about LGBT+, religion, cultures, etc. through books, projects, and more!

My topic was focused on bullying too, especially on suicide rates and body image!

My project was creating a film camp for young girls that teaches them the basics of film, so they can make their own videos on issues that are important to them!

Hey there! I applied as well. Best of luck to all of you! I’ve heard decisions come out late April or early May. :slight_smile:
