<p>I think the Class of 1981 was about an hour and a half. </p>

<p>The class of 1965 climbed the monument in 3 minutes but apparently used a cargo net. The Class of 1972 climbed the monument in 1.5 minutes but the monument apparently was not greased (or very lightly greased). There seems to be no doubt which class holds the record for the longest time, the Class of 1998 took 4 hours, 5 minutes, and 17 seconds.</p>
