<p>I am hoping that my (architect) husband will agree to join my in my desired future career of on-the-road trucker. I think this would be a great job! Not too likely… Maybe we’ll buy an RV, ditch the house, and have a blast driving around the continent. </p>

<p>OH NO! All of my retirement plans seem to involved driving large huge-tired vehicles around. I need counseling.</p>

<p>Our house is paid for, S1 is halfway thru college and S2 will graduate from h.s. next June. H has 4 more years before he is eligible to retire with full benefits. We are buying a lot on a river in another part of our state not far from the ocean. So our dream goal is to be able to sell this house and use the proceeds to build on our lot, get part-time jobs and spend our free time on the river and at nearby beach towns.
S2 has not made any post high sch. plans yet (my slacker kid) so that could affect our timetable but the dream remains the same.</p>

<p>I think ctymomteacher and her H are doing the RV tour with no permanent address thing. If I recall, she was going to do this during her S’s first year in college. He should be a 3rd year coming up, so she might be able to weigh in on this kind of lifestyle. It sounds pretty fun to me!</p>

<p>packmom, that sounds like a nice dream! Good for you that your house is already paid for! Wow.</p>

<p>My husband wants to be a small company owner manufacturing drugs at low cost for third world countries - mainly India at present. My plans are to go back to college to get a Masters in something, perhaps Math. We have to see how these 2 plans jive with each other. After 27 years of marriage I don’t see how I can live separately from him but going back to India and living permanently there when my plans are different will be difficult for me.</p>

<p>^^There are a number of online program from prestigious college that may satisfy your need. I was looking at Columbia online for MS/Phd in Engineering.
My friend is doing import/export with India, is getting huge commission fee. She just want to stay home with her young kids.</p>
