18 for me. I hate being average!

7 here and not surprised - I’m an extrovert who can talk to a door knob but simply cannot recall phone numbers and birthdates!

Wow. I got a zero.

I scored a measly 2. I do not remember details- dates, numbers- easily, although some of that may be effort and desire. I have a notebook I keep with me all day with phone numbers, calendars, notes; without it I am LOST. As far as the chit-chat/empathy/reading people stuff- I think I’ve developed that to a high level throughout my life just because of the line of work I’m in. And because as a teen, I spent hours on the telephone chatting with friends- I honed chatting to an artform at an early age. As far as the questions about fiction, imagining what people look like, etc.- I love fiction and get completely engrossed in characters. To the point that I DO know exactly what they look like, what their voices sound like, how they think. While I’m reading a book, the characters become so real, so tangible to me, it’s as if they live next door.

I got a 27. I am definitely not autistic or anywhere on the spectrum. As someone else said, it’s picking up geeks. I am a female physicist.

I think the test is bunk. First of all, the questions are so simplistic. For example, the first question asks whether you would prefer to do things alone or with others. This is almost impossible for me to answer. I definitely need time alone, but I also need time with others. Most of my working time is spent alone, but I could not function without colleagues. Like others, my interest in social activities depends on what kind of social activity and with whom. If I think about my casual acquaintances (mostly people in the neighborhood, parents of children at my son’s schools), I find about half of them completely uninteresting. My social skills are adequate for the amount and kind of socializing I enjoy. I have no interest in developing them further. This does not make me abnormal, nor does liking libraries (I have spent many glorious hours in the math library in the sub-basement of a certain university).

16 here.

I think the test is probably useful as a screening, not a diagnostic, tool. If you score highly, and you feel that your interactions with others are causing problems in your life, it’s a good idea to get checked out by a professional. But the score, by itself, does not tell you that you do or don’t have a prectrum disorder.

Maybe I missed something - I thought that the enjoying fiction and the imagination questions were against Asperger’s - I thought they were more literal and concrete, and tended to not enjoy fiction because they didnt’ visualize or automatically “get it”???

Got a 16, so pretty average for a guy.

I must admit though, I really doubt that a test like that has any validity, especially given that it’s self-reported. For example, I can be pretty diplomatic when necessary, and know exactly what I need to do to be like that - but I often am not, merely because I don’t feel like putting in the effort. Does that mean I’m diplomatic or not? Who knows…

Internet quizzes are a poor substitute for an actual diagnosis. No, scratch that - they’re no susbtitute at all.

LOL, I got a 15 - average female score on the nose.

8 for female.

Got a 16. Thought I’d actually score higher because I do have a penchant for picking up patterns and getting obsessed with topics. OTOH, I definitely do think I “get” people, plus I love stories and making stuff up. OTOOH, I do crave “alone” time, as much as I like spending time with people.

I think all my quirks canceled each other out.

I got a 14. One of my kids I suspect will get a 35. I sent it to her so we’ll see. She is now in college and a chem major - extremely bright but…
About 6-7 years ago I read an article about Asperger’s. Every characteristic described her to a “T”. uncanny.

16 for me, gregarious liberal arts major, but detail-oriented.

28 for me, a female tax lawyer. It figures.

I got a 10…very surprising…

I scored a 12. I guess I like social situations better than the library, even if I would consider myself shy. My brother has autism though, so I’m interested to see what he would score.

10, female.
Lower then I thought I’d get! ^.^
It’s funny because I’ve been getting progressively less introverted and observant of details…

10, female. Scored higher on empathetic questions, low on numbers, plus my memory for details is poor.

I got a 14. I thought I’d get a higher score though I have never thought I had Asperger’s.

8-Female. No surprises. I also am an extrovert who loves social situations.
