<p>It is always hard to tell in a few sentences if someone is being light hearted or heavy handed, sarcastic or honest (I am often rightfully accused of being sarcastic). But I honestly am attempting to figure out the true atmosphere of some colleges that sound appealing. My kid is very moderate and unbiased, though he has friends on the far left and the far right. I suspect that he doesn’t care too much about the political leanings of students on a campus, as long as it isn’t a strong culture of hateful/extreme (either side). There have been a few campuses I’ve visited, where they go on and on about how non-judgmental, diverse, and open to any possible ideas and debate they are…and when you ask them about political diversity, they are contemptous and highly biased, without realizing the sad irony of it all. :(</p>
