I’m taking Calc III at a local university. Yay for losing my parking spot at school in the middle of the day!

AP Stats because I don’t feel like taking Calc BC senior year.

Calc AB. My school won’t let you take BC without AB.

On a side-note, my fingers actually aren’t useless. I just wrote my first draft ._.

@Jellybae That’s usually the case with my school too (you have to take Calc A before you take BC). Luckily, when we were getting our course requests confirmed, I think my GC just assumed that since I was Asian, I was already supposed to be taking Calc BC, even though I hadn’t taken Calc A yet. Hooray for stereotypes. :3

Multivariable Calc at my local CC. And slight possibility of Diffeq second semester if they offer it. Probably not though - most likely I’ll take band and music theory again and fill up my other free with a math/science internship.

Side note -I should probably start my Common App essay. I’ve been working on some supplements bc the Common App one is so hard for me to write. Do you guys think it’s better for the essay to respond exclusively to one prompt, or could there be overlap (for example, the topic I have in mind is relevant to both the childhood/adulthood and challenging an idea/belief prompt)?

@elf4EVA Considering the broad nature of the prompts, I would think it shouldn’t matter if they overlap, since it is really all supposed to be about you.

^ what he said

Piggy-backing off of this topic, do you think it’s okay if an essay only kinda answers the prompt? Like, I want to answer the background/story prompt, but the idea I have for it is more just about a quality of mine that is “central to my identity.” It’s not really one complete story… do you think that’s okay?

AP Calc BC. I’m wicked excited that I’ll have the same teacher that I had for 10th & 11th grade again this year.

^ I’ve got the same situation.

Wow I feel stupid taking pre-cal/stat lmao.

Taking AP Calc BC next year. Self-studied for Stats and got a 4, so I’m so happy that I don’t have to take it.

2 more days until Common App. Holy balls.

I took AP Calc AB this past year. I would be taking AP Calc BC, but my school says it’s too short for a year-long course. So my Calc teacher made up a new “Advanced Problem Solving” class that is Calc BC based.

Does anyone know if Stanford requires LORs by November 1st for REA? Or can they be sent later?

I’m taking Topology and Group Theory.

@Nihilunt You should give teachers adequate time to get LOR’s submitted on time, but generally 11/1 is not set in stone as the deadline date for recommendations.

^ topology and group theory…what school do you go to :|

Question…
On Stanford’s website, they say “Decisions will be made by December 15.” Does this mean that you could hear from them before then?

^No. You will hear on December 15 this year. You only hear earlier when 12/15 falls on the weekend.

Okay. And when you do hear… Will it be online or will you receive an official letter In the mail?
@skieurope

both I believe, online first then mail 1-2 days later

Both @imagineer10
