High school class of 2016

@Bardinators Get started!! I know it’s easy to get lured to the internet, especially while doing homework you hate, but just think: You’re going to have to finish it anyways, right? It’s not like you have a choice, so just DO IT! It helps to time yourself if you get bored/distracted easily like me: work hard for 25 minutes, then take a break for 5. You don’t want to be stuck freaking out on the last day of summer, right? Right, so get to work :slight_smile: You can do this!!

so many people on here has such a huge ego…

does anyone else have like 5 AP classes? If so, do you guys have time to do ECs and study for the ACT, SAT??? I’m freaking out…

^yup. 5 APs, 2 hour swim practice every day, and a job. quit yo whinin ;]

In other news, 3 people have asked if I was a freshman.

My first week was fun, I guess.

@SippingCoffee, Speech is what will be most useful to me, in the future in general, while AP Chem will help me for UK colleges, who only look at APs. I actually like them both. That’s why I have trouble deciding.

Hello

Bumping this up - junior year just started for me, and it’s already a little overwhelming. ):

My hardest class is probably APUSH right now. Everyone has prior knowledge of history, and I don’t, so I’m a bit confused. I wish I wasn’t forced to take APUSH with AP English.

@gbrl10‌ lol why do you have to take apus for ap english? like what’s the school’s excuse lmao.
but it’s ok. apush is pretty self explanatory imo. usually the textbooks/prep books have everything you need, with little to no necessary background info, so it shouldn’t be too hard to catch up.

@Kebino‌ Hello

@glasshours‌ yeah for real. tho 90% the reason im’ struggling is because i’m currently obsessing over clearing a bunch of pointless games from the late 90s/early 2000s that are nowadays far from relevant.

@shinchang I’m not sure. I think because they’re afraid of not enough students taking APUSH or vice versa, so they make us take both.
You’re right, I’ll probably understand more as the course goes on.

Would top schools like HYP etc. be more impressed with these in a schedule this year: APs (lang, calc AB, physics, bio) or these APs (calc BC, bio, physics, w/ NO eng)? My question is: which lineup is more impressive?

I know of several schools that are coordinating the books read in AP Lang with the eras studied in APUSH, so it would make sense to take them concurrently.

@PoisonIvy20‌ - It really depends on the grades you get in those classes and if you’re emphasizing math on your app. It’s better if you’re taking rigorous classes across all subjects, but if you’re planning on putting a bunch of math awards and extracurriculars on your app, it may seem a little odd that you’re opting to take AB instead of BC.

@petrichor11 Yeah, our summer reading was combined. I guess the knowledge gained from reading The Grapes of Wrath will be helpful whenever we get to that time period.

Why don’t you go ask Steven Ma? That’ll be $6000. <a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?;

Poisonivy: it depends on which Physics you take. Also, who takes APUS junior year? Little late?

@purportedlay‌ In my school district it’s standard to take APUSH junior year

Odd. Mine it’s sophomore and ap English goes with it.
