When you realize graduation is coming faster than you thought and you contemplate how you’re going to transition to college and dorm life successfully without screwing everything up when you’re not even in college yet and still have a few months left of high school to go… me rn

@AMan236 Thank you for the support! I’ve been kind of worried lately cause high school hasn’t been the easiest when dealing with anxiety and stuff, but I also have this feeling that college is gonna change all that for me. Thanks again for the help

I finished the FASFA. The NJ section keeps saying “parent 1 & 2 can’t have the same social security #”, so I’m going to meet with my GC. Hopefully they don’t ask for my dad’s income, he makes much more than my mom.
Holy…just submitted five applications. Cornell is still left, but whatever. I still have tomorrow.

@Swinter I don’t think so, did you get an email or something? I know UChicago extended their’s to the 8th, though…
@LordBendtner The Dictator was one of the funniest movies I had watched. Hands down. It was rated R and my mom didn’t want me to see it but I have my ways lol.
Eh. Whatever. There’s only one I have to submit after all these January 1st deadlines, so it’s fine.
Side note: This guy applied to all the same schools as me (met him on Facebook through the MIT group) and he wrote essays that are 1000× better and sound more intelligent and I’m just left here thinking I just got rejected everywhere. :))
@XoXdreamerXoX But aren’t those people everywhere? Makes me question myself why I’m applying to top tier schools in the first place smh. Like why are you making us regular people feel so crappy, why don’t you just take your awesome ec’s and scores and basically everything and just go somewhere else jeez.

@nuimancel He has a 2400 SAT and his essays are the most amazing thing I’ve read in my life. I just have an average Joe vocabulary (or whatever the female counterpart to Joe is). I mean, I didn’t miss any vocabulary questions on the SAT, but that’s because I know the words but don’t use them in my own writing/speech.
@XoXdreamerXoX apparently some dude in the Cornell 2020 group posted a link from 2013 saying that the deadline was extended, so don’t listen to me haha
@nuimancel @XoXdreamerXoX Don’t think of yourself like that. You wouldn’t be here on CC if you were a “regular”. Everyone is unique in their own right. Don’t envy other people; there is no point to it and you will only feel bad about yourself.
Eh. As long as Common App still says 1/2, I’m submitting on 1/2. Like Dartmouth extended until the 5th but Common App still said 1/1, so I submitted 1/1. Or Notre Dame; they said they don’t need the supplements until mid-January, but Common App still said 1/1 so that’s when I submitted. (Of course, I know you can submit before the deadline, but I don’t roll that way.)
@XoXdreamerXoX Same! Whenever I write my essays, I write a kindergarten version of it and then whip out thesaurus.com to make it sound more educated. But then it still isn’t good :-<
@XoXdreamerXoX That’s how 90% of people on CC make me feel.
It’s not envy, it’s more of a, “sh*t I’m nowhere near that level” type thing. I’m not envious of him by any means. I just let go of all hopes at that point. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ I guess I just like my essays because they display who I am despite the simple language. They actually make me sound a lot nicer though, which is weird. :-/
