<p>Have you seen RIT? a very impressive school. 1,500 acres with some amazing facilities. Outside of NYC, RIT is one of 3 really good schools of engineering (Cornell and Renssalaer Poly are the other 2). Just to provide a little comparison, Hofstra undergrad engineering is ranked 397th and RIT is 64th. But in the end it is your drive that makes your career, not a school ranking.</p>
<p>BUT if you are from Central America…Rochester is central NY and gets some wicked snow and cold!!! Long Island gets cold and snow, but nothing like Central NY State. That alone may be a very big factor for you. </p>
<p>You really should visit both before you decide. You will do well and stay warmer at Hofstra.</p>
