I feel like Pannetore can go the way a fruitcake goes - you love it or hate it, if the product is true to the original form Pannetone or fruitcake.
That’s what I liked about the sourdough recipe above - it’s not TRUE Pannetone - it’s a “dumbed down version” so to speak! 
This would not be so dense and filled with fruit/nuts.
