Home Exchange

@coralbrook I would not allow driving any of my vehicles. Ask your insurance person.

It’s just not worth the risk/hassle. Anyone flying in can just as easily rent a car.

I think you are right. I just cannot imagine that someone would safely drive my big truck and my fancy car is off limits. But I live in an area without public transportation so they would have to rent a car or pay for a lot of Ubers

My listing has only been up for about an hour and I already have 2 inquiries. One is to exchange to Rincon, Puerto Rico which is a favorite spot of mine. But the lady wants to come this month and that is too COVID risky to Puerto Rico. Plus it will be dang hot there in her cottage without AC. Other one is from Chicago, a place I am not interested in visiting in the near future. Note that both these places are not on my preferred destination list so I guess no one pays attention to that.

Maybe it would be good to stay with a local friend and get points for the first couple of times to get a feel for the new experience

@coralbrook My neighbor did a home exchange about 15 years ago with a family from Dublin, Ireland. I think they stayed in San Diego for 3 weeks. The home exchange included the use of your car. I remember this since my neighbor had just gotten a new car and she did not leave it, but instead borrowed an extra car from her sister for the people to use. We met the people staying in our neighbors home as they had 2 children that were close in age to our kids at the time.
