It’s funny how some of you guys are still going to boss your kids around when they get home. What a surprise! :P

Of course. My daughter has been driving her younger sister around, doing xmas shopping for me, and yes, doing my laundry today. She has not been bored since she came home. She was given a list of dates that require her presence, and she is to work her social life around it. The day I stop bossing her around is the day she starts supporting herself.

Ah, I see. I assumed that they were independent.

I still have that Latino view that once you hit 18, or you graduate (whichever comes first), it’s time to get a job and go out on your own. Haven’t quite adjusted to the “CC culture.” :P

my daughter was so excited to come home and see her high school friends…could not wait. Each of the three days since she arrived home, friends have arrived to wild screams and hugs and immediately disappeared into her room and shut the door. The first day was all laughter and talk. But yesterday and today, I noticed it was very quiet behind that closed door. Once the friends had left, I asked D what they had done. “Napped.” Now that’s a friend.
