Home Office Set Up

I second this recommendation!! Very handy.

Using my home Brother printer with all phones and laptops. It is an older model and a B/W laser jet, so the exact model information would be of no use to the OP.

I second the Epson EcoTank. I have two, and just ordered a third for sublimation printing (special ink). I’ve been very happy with them. As with any inkjet, you don’t want it to sit idle for too long or the nozzles get clogged.

I print with our printer daily or at least weekly most of the time. Only when we are out of town, we stop printing, of course.

I have a very old HP Envy 4500 printer that was less than $100. I can’t find a similar newer model. I did see this one though. What a deal! Only $35. Comes with 6 months free ink…

Wow, at $35 including 6 months of free ink, it’s worth it just for the ink. After 6 months, you can buy another. Haha!

Thanks for that link. I decided to go up one model and went with this one that prints a little faster and does automatic double sided printing. Hopefully it fits the bill but yeah the 6 month ink really helps out!

I’ll be posting for more input on my new office setup soon, but since the recent discussion seems to be around printers I’ll go ahead and ask this question.

I don’t print very often, especially in color. I have both a laser printer (larger than I want, about 10 yrs old, works fine) and a small inkjet (I don’t use often enough so issues with ink-waste and clogging). No doubt I need to scrap the inkjet. But I’d love a smaller profile laser for my new home office. Wireless printing is a must

Suggestions?

I use a Brother laser printer. It’s not the most compact thing but it’s lasted us for several years now without any issue. I much prefer b&w lasers to inkjets for plain document printing - easier, cheaper and fewer refills, more reliable. I also like the large paper tray - that’s also one less worry for refilling.

Size isn’t really an issue for me as it literally sits in a closet (on a stand). My model is discontinued but it looks like this:

I have the same Brother laser printer and it is fantastic!

My Brother printer is likely the earlier model of this one, about four years old, and so far, it has served us well.

I am in the market for a good desk chair. I have neck pain and sometimes from back pain. I often have to sit for a long time - back to back conference calls.
@FallGirl and anyone here to make a recommendation. Would appreciate a link if you have it.

Do you think this is the same.

Looks very similar.

This is what is known as a “light task chair,” apparently. Intended for short periods of sitting while working on a small task. Not very good for sitting for hours. You would want to look for chairs with full adjustment of height, tilt, lumbar support, etc. and possibly a headrest. I strongly recommend testing in person and buying from a place with an easy return policy. I once returned a $1000 chair to Relax The Back because while it was OK in the store, a week of sitting in it showed that it was no better than my old, dilapidated office chair!

My current chair was ordered from this company:

I like it.

They also have the infamous Aeron chair! Remember the Dot Com era? The chair that became the mascot of Irrational Exuberance!

I have an Aeron and it’s great. Have probably had it for 10-12 years and shows no wear, with daily use. I am sure I bought it on sale LOL

There were some fire sales on those chairs during every stock market bust! Looks like the pandemic office closures also helped drive down prices of office furniture.

Costco and Office Depot often have chairs on display you can sit in and make sure they suit you before deciding whether to buy (plus the excellent Costco return policy).
