@allphoe – I was thinking a long the same lines. Exams that require a lot of critical thinking and deep understanding of the material are harder to ‘cheat’ on.I don’t think multiple choice and short answer are very common at small LACs anyway.
@emptynesteryet - You clearly have strong opinions on this topic and a set point of view. Davidson is not going to veer from its long tradition, so it’s not clear to me what you’re seeking to get from this thread: You’ve received input that cheating doesn’t seem to be a significant problem; you believe otherwise. Davidson won’t be changing, and therefore I think think it may not be the place where you choose to invest your family’s higher ed dollars. There’s lot of great colleges out there that I’m sure will resonate more positively with you and I hope the search goes well.
