Honors college info is sent later separately (November/December-ish). They will send you an email or mailing that will tell your son/daughter to go online to fill out a survey where you can specify a choice whether to live on honors or non-honors floors. There are no honors dorms, but there are honors floors in many different dorms. As far as good location for engineering majors, case hall has a lot of engineering majors on the honors floor merely because it is closest to the engineering building. As a current resident of case hall living on the honors floor, I’d highly highly recommend case hall to anyone (decent cafe, south complex, nearby to spartan stadium, etc).

As for other dorms, Snyder-phillips has perhaps the nicest, newest dorms with arguably the best food and is right along the edge of campus on grand river ave near shops/downtown East Lansing. Bryan (in Brody) has probably the biggest rooms but I would strongly suggest to avoid brody if at all possible (furthest away from classes, etc).

From the website:
“Honors students have the option of living on an Honors floor in one of six residence halls: Bryan, Case, Holmes, Mason, Snyder-Phillips or Yakeley-Gilchrist. Each hall has one Honors floor or wing for women and one for men. This popular living arrangement allows members to form a distinct community that represents a wide range of academic interests and experiences. Honors floor students, with the help of their Resident Mentors, often organize intramural sports teams, community service, and special events and trips.”
