The classes are way more difficult than any class you took in high school (including things like AP/IB) and any regular classes at Pitt. They are generally more fast-paced while covering more in-depth and theoretical material. They should not be taken lightly and you should seriously be interested in the material of the class before you sign up for the UHC version of it. (At least for core classes, the electives are not as bad)

The atmosphere on campus overall changes from school to school, major to major, and person to person. I would not say Pitt is a party-crazy school, or a Greek-crazy school (something like only 10-15% of campus is Greek) but a good amount of people are hard workers who will do their work, but then also know how to relax, have fun, and have a life outside of class (clubs, hanging out, etc.)

Can’t speak for business specifically, but I know people have been pretty good about finding jobs within 6 months of graduation for most practical degrees. I highly suggest that you spend your summers wisely (internships are key) as well as do a good amount of networking through professors and contacts so that you have a good starting base for when you begin to look for a job.

UHC Engineering classes (Calc, Physics, Engineering, Chem) are hard and require a lot more work than the regular classes. Job placement for engineering is REALLY good. I haven’t heard of a single graduate who had issues finding jobs (the longest I heard it took someone was 3 months post-graduation, and I have no idea when they began looking for a job). Almost everyone was either already accepted into a graduate program or had a job lined up by the time we graduated in April.

SSOE is really good about co-op and internship placement. I know I was getting emails at least monthly about companies looking for students. As long as you have a decent GPA (3.0+) you shouldn’t have any problems getting co-op placement through the co-op fairs that are hosted every fall and spring.
