@achillingchild No dorm has printers for student use, not even LLPs or Honors housing (at least for what I’ve seen and experienced). I’ve hardly had to print anything out. Most assignments ARE submitted online (like 98%). Even ENGL101 was a paper-free class and we were allowed to bring electronic drafts of our papers into class. The most printing I’ve had to do were for some personal forms I’ve had to fill out, resumes, and for COMM107 just because my teacher liked to have a hard copy of our speech outlines (and even then it was maybe like 6 sheets of paper total).
I’d say that a printer isn’t worth it, considering you might make a friend on your floor that wouldn’t mind printing something out for you (I’ve asked my friend on a few occasions to print stuff for me). Plus, you’ll probably have classes near/on McKeldin Mall, so you can always drop by the library when you’re near it for classes instead of walking from your dorm (it helps motivate you to finish work quicker, believe me).
BUT ! to each their own. This is just my experience and my two cents on the matter!!
