Honors Fellows versus Elon College Fellows

Agree that there is good information on the website. I have 2 kids who applied for Fellows programs; one was accepted and one was not. (neither were the programs kenmel is asking about.) My advice is to apply to the program or programs of most interest, and then ask A LOT of questions at Fellows week-end if you are invited. Each program has a reception where you are encouraged to interact with current fellows. Since each program has its own structure, requirements, and culture, it’s important to engage with those students to learn more.

My S, who was invited to Fellows week-end but not accepted into his chosen program, was in the end very glad that he wasn’t - it would not have been a good fit for him. My D, however, is loving her experience and fellow Fellows. For the school-based programs (especially Business, Teaching and Comm), it’s important to have a passion for studying that field. Some kids in my D’s program are thinking about changing majors, and hence giving up their Fellows position.

My S’s girlfriend was an Elon College Fellow and enjoyed her experience, but I don’t know much about what it entailed. She was an English major.
