Hostess Gift Ideas

I love to give some sort of snowman mugs for hot chocolate or coffee or whatever.

Intparent - don’t feel like a country mouse, we have a huge outdoor party every July and people bring gifts that someone often takes from them and either leaves outside on a table or if it’s the catering staff brings inside to the dining room table. It doesn’t mean we don’t see it and appreciate it. Even after all these years we love gathering after the party or the next day to open the gifts. We just don’t like having to stop what we’re doing to accept them.

Local gifts are always appreciated; we have a friend from Vermont who brought us a maple syrup sampler one year with definitions of the different ratings of syrup. A friend from Minnesota brought us loon mugs (the state bird). Trust me, the gift was noted and enjoyed.

Well, I guess the country mouse feeling wasn’t just about the hostess gift. I was VERY glad that I insisted that we shop for new clothes, shoes, etc. for all of us for the whole weekend. It felt like overkill ahead of time, but we all felt a bit more comfortable when we got there than we would have in our usual (slightly disheveled, but quite comfortable) state. And I was glad I had a gift of some kind.
